Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and model-businessman Jeremy Jauncey have finally said it! They have confirmed that they are dating in an exclusive cover story article for the June 2020 Issue of Philippine Tatler.
The cover, featuring Pia and Jeremy, were shot by English fashion photographer and television personality Nigel Barker, best known for his judging stint in the Tyra Banks-hosted reality show America’s Next Top Model. The shoot took place in the Hudson Yards Mall in New York City.
In their interview, Pia recounted how they met in London and that it was Jeremy who was the first to approach her.
“He came up to me and told me about how much he loved the Philippines, where he had been to a few times for work,” the beauty queen told Tatler Philippines. “There was an immediate spark. We couldn't stop talking. I found him to be such a warm person and I like that he was always smiling.”
However, it took a while for them to enter the exclusive dating scene because Pia just came from a breakup rand Jeremy wanted to give her space.
“She set the parameters, and I happily accepted. It was a chance to show that I was serious about her and that I wanted to be a gentleman about it, which was very important to me,” Jeremy said.
When asked what they like about each other, Pia answered how she finds her man’s passion and drive inspiring, saying how she has learned so much from him.
“I never thought I would find a guy who is just as motivated as I am --- and then he came along,” she mused. “I felt like I met my male version! He is so passionate about business and health; I've been learning so much from him.”
The couple also added that they want to set a good “foundation” before they would make an official public announcement about their relationship.
“We knew how much we liked each other, but we wanted to spend quality time with each other and build something strong before we made any official announcements,” Jeremy said.
"We wanted to make sure we set a good foundation for our relationship before we came out in the open,” Pia added. “I've made a mistake of sharing too much too soon before, and I wanted to make sure I did it right this time."
Apart from being the editor-at-large of Tatler Asia, Jeremy also acts as the CEO of a travel agency called Beautiful Destination and has modeled for a famous Filipino clothing brand.
Dating rumors about them started circulating around social media earlier this year when fans started to notice the similarities between their posts during their travels in Indonesia. In the months that passed, there were also some instances that Jeremy shared on Instagram Stories that he is either with Pia or accidentally showed photos of himself with the beauty queen.
