Akala daw ni Kuya Kim Atienza ay balanse ang buhay niya; “I should have spent more time with my kids.”

Dito na natanong si Kuya Kim ng entertainment press kung naniniwala ba s’ya that men should be more involved in maintaining the household or raising the children.

For the longest time kasi ay lagi daw s’yang wala sa kanila dahil sa nature ng trabaho n’ya on TV.

“That’s one of my latest learnings and the pandemic brought about that new tidbit of wisdom that I learned. I thought everything is balanced and then the pandemic happened and my kids are growing up.  I realized parang, ‘I should have spent more time with them,’” pagbabahagi ni Kuya Kim.

“When my daughter was asking me how to play Minecraft [video game series] I said no,” pagbabalik-tanaw n’ya.

“Now, looking back my daughter is not here na, I should have said yes. We could have played Minecraft together for hours and hours.

“When my son asked me to do sports with him, he wanted to learn skiing when he was younger I said no. Now that I’m older I can’t ski anymore. I should have said yes.”

“I thought it was balanced. Now, after pandemic, [I realized] I should have done more things with the kids,” pagpapatuloy pa ni Kuya Kim.

“But my busyness naman now came perfectly because now I have three shows in GMA-7. Feli and I have one kid na [lang dito sa bahay] and that kid will leave us in about seven months already so it’s perfect naman ngayon na marami akong ginagawa. Pero noon dapat binawasan ko.

Dapat I should have spent more time with my kids,” pag-uulit pa niya. “Doing things that they love to do, not the things I imposed to them, not the things I liked to do. I should have immersed myself with them more.”

“But no regrets. Life is like that. I’m happy. I’m happy for my kids. They’re good kids flying away from me but they’re flying,” pagtatapos ni Kuya Kim.
