Albert Martinez will soon welcome a new son-in-law.

The veteran actor's youngest daughter, Alissa, got engaged yesterday to her non-showbiz boyfriend Paulus Reyes.

Paulus popped the question in a scenic lakeside location by sunset, which made for a breathtaking view as he hoped for Alissa's 'yes'.

Photos of the proposal were posted by the newly-engaged couple on their respective Instagram accounts. Alissa wrote in one of her posts: "I love you so much @paulusreyes 😭💍 I can’t wait to spend forever with you!! 😭😭😭"

Right after getting engaged, the couple went to visit Alissa's father, Albert Martinez, on the set of his new primetime teleserye The General's Daughter.

Albert, who was dressed in military wear because of his role, posed with his bunso Alissa and future son-in-law Paulus.

The actor later posted the photo on Instagram, where he penned a touching message for his daughter.

He wrote: "Tears of joy ..I look at you and do not see the passage of time . I see my little girl playing dress up , running through the yard , running around with the dogs , hugging your mama all day long .

"I will try and respect the fact that you’re older now and that the decisions you will make are your own , but you must understand that to me , you will always be my little girl.

"I may not be able to carry you in my arms anymore , but I will always carry you in my heart ... I love you my princess @alissamartinez @paulusreyes"
