Alessandra De Rossi explains why she does not attend the protest rallies of ABS-CBN!

Alessandra De Rossi took to Twitter after a netizen questioned her absence in ABS-CBN protest rallies.

The actress said prioritizing public health safety as the reason behind not going out and protesting alongside ABS-CBN employees and showbiz colleagues.

"May [COVID-19]. Maawa ka," she told the netizen. "Tsaka di ako okay (mentally) pag madaming tao. Birthday party nga, di ako umaattend, rally pa?"

In another tweet, she added that she is not afraid to say that she does not want to get infected by the fast-spreading disease, especially since the cases in the country had exceeded 70,000.

[K]aya nga madami nagiisip maldita ako dahil pag tama ako, di ako takot magsabi ng totoo at magmukhang mali," she wrote. "Pero yung covid ay wala akong xray vision para dyan. Yung totoo, takot ako dyan. Wala akong planong makausap sya ng personal. Wala akong planong matalo dyan."

A netizen then clapped back against Alessandra's statement, prompting her to say that he looks beyond his personal opinions.

"[D]i porket mas matapang ang isa ay takot ang isa. Baka iba kinatatakutan nya," she answered back. "Ako sure na, covid first, tapusin ko lang to at baka ito tumapos sakin."

She further explained to her followers that she simply wants to stay safe and healthy.

"Feeling ko kung nasa pinas nanay ko ay babatukan ako nun kung lumabas ako," she said. "Iba iba tayo ng kinalakihan. Iba iba tayo ng laban,"

The Through Night & Day star clarified, however, that she sees nothing wrong in attending rallies. Yet, she also said there is nothing wrong in not attending.

"Walang mali sa umattend ng rally dahil may gusto sila Ilaban. Walang mali sa gusto palipasin muna to be sure. Isa lang kalaban ngayon at hindi ako yun," she added.

She added that she is saving for her family, that is why she intends to stay alive in this time of pandemic.

"Wala akong pagsisisihan if my only goal is to stay alive and do only what I can. Dahil di ko pa tapos bayaran insurance ko para may makuha @ermatsko pag nadeadz ako," she told her followers. "Wala naman akong savings, ni pang ospital wala. Ang importante ngayon.. Mabuhay tayo. So twitter nalang!"

Alessandra also defended her mother when a basher, who has now deleted the tweet, said she was going on a leisure trip in the middle of the COVID-19 rise.

It could be recalled that her mother flew back to Italy from Canada last March 23.

"Wala pang covid nun. Hindi sya naglakwatsa. Nag-alaga sya ng kapatid na na may sakit sa Canada. Then pumutok ang covid at naipit sya don. Wala na ngang makain maglalakwatsa pa?! Di tayo close. Wag ako. Wag nanay ko. Masunurin yan. And ikaw, no respect," she clapped back.

After a follower slammed her bashers for putting her mother on the spotlight, Alessandra explained: "Okay lang kung totoo. Kaso hindi eh. I can explain kung totoo. Kaso assumption with bad judgment na sya. Paano? Tapos heal the world? Heal the brain first."
