After coming out as bisexual to the public last Tuesday, October 22, actor and former MYX VJ Alex Diaz posted a short video message of gratitude for the love and support he has been receiving from netizens.
It could be recalled that a post from a fitness coach circulated online last October 18 where he took screenshots of his conversation with Alex asking for "indecent proposals", with the former accusing him of propositioning.
When the issue blew up in social media, Alex posted a long message of both apologies and thanks on his Instagram. The thank you was for receiving positive comments from celebrity colleagues and fans alike for embracing his true self.
Yesterday, October 24, Alex once again posted a short video message of gratitude, announcing that he will take some time off to work and reassess the situation.
"I've been receiving all your messages of love and support and I'm so thankful," Alex said on his Instagram video. "I really am gonna take some time off to reassess."
He then adds that he owes everyone an explanation of what had happened and has been put in a position where he can be a person that can make a change.
"But before this all happened, I do have clients and brands relying on me," he explained. "Brands that I've very much believed in. Otherwise, I wouldn't be associated with them, so I'm gonna keep working, keep putting out my work, keep putting out content work-related.”
Yet, the actor said he will focus on taking some time off for himself. However, he gave fans a sneak peek of what is to expect when it comes to his future content.
"A string of content which aims to shed light on issues such as call-out culture, suppression, basically not being able to be your authentic self, and to everything related to this when you're struggling through," he said.
"And to everybody that messaged me about coming out to their families, such an amazing thing that you've done and I'm happy to be a part of that," Alex added.
Alex also had a message to people who have yet to come out, telling them to take their time.
"From personal experience, it's really like a blanket of trauma and uncertainty was pulled back from my life," he described. "But, take it at your own time."
He concluded the video message by saying it is back to work for him while wishing everyone that they are doing well. Watch Alex’s video message below!
