The Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin expressed her excitement over Marvel’s newest Filipina character named Wave when it was first introduced online by one of its creators, Greg Pak.

She said, “I'm excited to learn more about this character! I [love] that her weapon of choice is a Kampilan, w/c is believed to be the sword Lapu-Lapu used to strike down Ferdinand Magellan. So, [thumbs up] for that! Regarding her costume, I wonder what’s the inspiration behind the design?”

The co- creator and designer of superhero Wave Leinil Francis Yu who happened to be a Filipino as well replied to the actress’ tweet and said that he “would love to see her [Angel] as wave.”

The Filipino designer also unveiled the abilities of Wave [a.k.a. Pearl Pangan] to ABS-CBN news which are water and tech-based.
As a reply to a fan hoping to see her portray the character, Angel, dubbed “Action-Drama Queen” in the showbiz industry, revealed that she’s done with accepting superhero roles.
