A special event took place at the Lights of Love Events Place in Quezon City today, February 14 wherein LGBTQ+ couples tied the knot in an intimate mass wedding ceremony.

 The event was posted by Liza Diño on her official Facebook account while writing that she played the role of “ninang” or godmother to the 140+ LGBTQ+ couples in attendance. She also did a live stream of the ceremony.

Meanwhile, her husband, Ice Seguerra, was the wedding singer of the night, serenading everyone with romantic songs such as “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri and “How Did You Know” by Gary Valenciano.

“LOVE IS PRIDE. PRIDE IS LOVE.” the Chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines wrote. “Spending Valentines Day as "NINANG" to 140+ LGBTQ+ couples who are about to get married today in a lovely and intimate mass wedding ceremony here in Quezon City.”

The mass wedding was officiated by Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte who, according to Diño, was the lady mayor’s way to support the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

“The event may be symbolic and not legally binding but this gesture by our local government is so heartwarming and encouraging,” Diño wrote.
