After years of speculation, Gerald Anderson finally reveals his relationship with Julia Barretto!

In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda, Gerald Anderson finally confessed that he is in a relationship with Julia Barretto.

Abunda, in the video uploaded on the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel on Friday, March 5, asked the actor if Julia was the reason behind his smile.

“Yes, Tito Boy. It’s a yes,” the Kapamilya star admitted, confirming years of speculation that he is together with Julia. “I’m very happy.”

Anderson also said he opts to put his focus on his blessings amidst all the accusations being hurled at him.

“At the end of the day, ako ’yong pinaka-controversial na tao sa Pilipinas ngayon, but I’m so blessed with good health, ’yong pamilya, nakakakain kami araw-araw, may work ako. I can still provide for them,” he told the talk show host.

In the same interview, Anderson was also asked about what happened with his relationship with Bea Alonzo, denying accusations that he “ghosted” the actress in 2019.

“Wala po akong ghinost,” he said.

He also described that he had been in a toxic relationship for many months.

“Ano po ba ang definition ng ghosting? Kasi ang dating sa’kin is parang nasa gitna kami ng dinner and then nag-decide ako na mag-walkout and ’di magpakita kahit kailan,” he explained.

“’Yon ba ang definition or is it walking away from a very unhealthy, toxic -- not saying na siya ’yong toxic, ako ’yong toxic -- but being together we were very toxic, and hindi nirerespeto ’yong explanation na binibigay mo, hindi tinatanggap after months and months and months and months and months of being on the rocks at medyo away? I mean ’yon lang,” he went on. “I’m just gonna leave it at that.”

When asked if he and Alonzo had a formal break-up, Anderson said he could still remember the scene, yet he did not talk about it further as he did not want to put anyone in a bad light.

“I can remember that moment. I just don’t have the guts to put someone in a bad light because gusto ko linisin ang image ko or ’yong side ko,” he said. “Nasaktan [ako], [pero] wala na po akong magagawa, Tito Boy.”

“Hindi rin ako ’yong tipo ng tao na kahit ang daming nagsasabi na ’’Di magsalita ka.’ I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror kapag nagkwento pa ko about my relationship, kung paano kami naghiwalay o ’di naghiwalay,” he added.

In addition, Anderson also chose to remain mum about the issue when it became a hot topic on social media, saying he did want to use other people just to clear his name.

“I will never throw someone under the bus para lang linisin ’yong [pangalan ko],” he said. “Lalo na ’yong tao na I have intimate moments with, I had happy moments with. Lalo na itong last, ang pangit. Ang lala.”

It could be recalled that it was mid-2019 when Anderson caught himself in a controversy when news of his break-up with Alonzo circulated on social media. He was, then being romantically linked with Barretto, who became his co-star in the romantic drama film Between Maybes which was shot in Japan. Both denied being more than friends during that time.

Despite denying their relationship, tons of netizens still had speculations that the two stars have something going on, with some even connecting their separate pictures on Instagram.

Anderson also posted a cryptic message on his Instagram Stories after news broke out that Barretto was allegedly pregnant. The latter has since denied the rumor.
