“I don’t wanna do soaps anymore. And is that a problem for me? No. Do I wanna stop TV? No.

“It’s a time for me to challenge myself to create something new for myself and hopefully, it works,” pahayag ng 39-anyos na aktor nang tanungin namin kung anong balak niyang gawin pagkatapos ng Halik na nasa huling dalawang linggo na nito simula sa Lunes, April 15.

“Maybe it’s a sign that you asked me that because at least, I can promise myself that I will graduate already from soap operas. But a different kind of TV show, why not?

“It’s the world now of... there’s digital. We don’t know where things are going. It’s a season where each and every actor can create, can direct, can produce, can write.

“And one of the very few that actually offered me that is Ruel Bayani [head ng RSB unit na may gawa ng Halik]. So, I love Direk Ruel Bayani.”

Pagpapatuloy niya, “I had an epiphany, na parang if I allow my advisers to just take that step, to create and to maybe someday, do something for myself and challenge the people around me, ‘di ba? To make something new, maybe I will be great.

“For now, I’ll be honest with you, I have to take a break I have to make more movies and then come up with another TV show of a different kind, parang gano’n.

“But will I say goodbye to the fans? No. Will I say goodbye to the one I love most—acting? No. I just want to create something new and I wanna challenge myself. If it doesn’t work, it’s my fault, ‘di ba?

“I’m backed up by my endorsements and they’re all saying that, ‘Jericho, we do not mind if you wanna do your own thing.’

“So, thank you for asking that question. Now, it’s out there, nilabas ko na. I just... something in me is dying already.

“So, I have to breathe new life into this career. So, the next 20 years, I don’t know. We’ll see. This year also. Thank you,” sambit ni Echo.
