JM de Guzman has spoken up about his relationship with Araw Gabi co-star Barbie Imperial, amidst allegations that he only used her to drum up support after his showbiz comeback.
On the April 10 episode of Tonight With Boy Abunda, JM opened up about his relationship with Barbie, with whom he was linked to during the duration of their wildly-popular afternoon show Araw Gabi.
At the time, the pair frequently posted sweet photos and videos with each other on social media, leading fans to assume that they were headed towards a relationship.
But whatever JM and Barbie had, it seemed to fizzle out shortly after their show ended.
JM, however, firmly denied that he used his co-star for his personal gain.
The actor said that he tried to pursue a relationship with Barbie, but the pressure of work got in the way.
"I tried to pursue her after nong show I told her na baka puwede nating i-try pero maging magkaibigan muna tapos tignan natin, kung puwede bang may mangyari or something.
"Pero medyo [malaki] 'yong pressure no'ng trabaho sa kanya and sa akin," said JM. "Siya kaka-launch lang and ako kakabalik pa lang so di nag-work."
JM added that while he and Barbie tried to make it work, it only lasted for less than one month.
These days, the Last Fool Show actor is being linked to yet another Kapamilya actress: Ria Atayde.
When asked about the possibility of something blooming between them, JM said that he and Ria have a "sobrang okay na friendship."
She's very sweet na kaibigan."
Is there a chance that he would pursue Ria in the future?
JM is referring to actress Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Art Atayde, who are Ria's parents.
However, JM said that if he were to pursue Ria, it would be in the far, far future because of reasons related to his recovery post-addiction.
"Sabi nga nila three years daw e or two years bago ako pwedeng... hindi naman nila ako [pipigilan].
