Jolina Magdangal warned followers of an online plant scammer she encountered recently!

Jolina Magdangal reminded her “plantito” and “plantita” followers to be careful when shopping for plants online, as she revealed that she was scammed recently on Facebook Marketplace.

In an Instagram post last Saturday, January 16, the actress and Magandang Buhay host first showered a local online plant seller with gratitude for finally granting her wish of owning a golden barrel cactus plant.

“Maraming maraming salamat sa pagiging generous sa akin. Panatag ang loob ko pag sayo nanggagaling ang mga plants ko dahil alam kong naalagaan mo na bago mo ibenta o ibigay,” she told the seller.

It was a different experience for her two Sundays ago when she was scammed by another plant seller who sold her coveted cacti for a lower price. Jolina paid for the order via a cashless transaction and was informed that the plants will be delivered soon only to discover that the seller never chatted her again.

“Bumili tuloy ako sa kanya ng 3 [golden barrel] at 7 pang kakaibang cactus. Ang ayos kausap, english speaking pa. Mode of payment ay gcash. Hapon ang huling text nya ay padeliver na ang mga order ko,” she recalled. “At ’yun na ang huling text nya, nagmemessage ako nung gabi hanggang monday  after lunch. Wala na.. pinapatay na ang tawag sa gcash number na binigay nya.”

Jolina went on, saying how her husband Mark Escueta even pretended to be interested in buying plants from the scammer so he could get some answers. However, when he began questioning the scammer about Jolina’s plants, she suddenly became unsearchable on Facebook.

“First time nangyari sakin. Ganito pala feeling,” she said.

Jolina, then, called out the scammer who was only known to her as “Samantha” and asked her to have pity on the people she stole money from.

“Alam kong mahirap ang buhay ngayon pero hindi yan ang paraan para kumita ka. Maaaring after nito ay magpalit ka na ng account pero malamang itutuloy mo parin yang panloloko mo. Ang Diyos ay nakikita ang lahat lahat. At pinagdasal na kita sa kanya,” she said.

Jolina concluded her post by asking everyone to be wary about online scammers and thanking everyone who read her post.

The actress-host is a self-confessed plant lover, always posting photos of her plant collection on Instagram when she gets the chance.

In a previous post, Jolina said she had always wanted to own a golden barrel cactus because of its yellow spikes and beautiful scent.
