Former senator Jinggoy Estrada took to his official Facebook account on Friday, April 16 to inform his followers that his father, former president Joseph "Erap" Estrada, is back in intensive care unit (ICU) after doctors discovered that he has bacterial lung infection.
"We wish to announce that my father had a slight set back last night as his doctors found a super imposed bacterial lung infection," he wrote.
Jinggoy added that Erap was brought back so doctors can monitor his condition and to have support for his blood pressure, the latter fluctuating because of the abovementioned infection.
"But overall, he is stable with high flow oxygen support," he clarified.
Jinggoy concluded by asking once more for prayers from his followers for his father's fast recovery and for those infected with COVID-19.
"Once again, we ask for your prayers for his immediate recovery and also to all those infected with covid19. Thank you so much," he said.
Last March 28, Jinggoy announced that Erap was brought into the ICU after testing positive for COVID-19. By April 6, the former chief executive was placed in mechanical ventilation for worsened pneumonia.
