KC Montero and his wife, Stephanie Dods, were two of 121 individuals arrested in a bar in Makati for violating social distancing protocols amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines.

It was also reported that the Makati Police not only arrested the customers involved, but the employees and bar owners, as well.

Under the general community quarantine (GCQ) rules in Metro Manila, bars are still prohibited to operate as they were deemed inessential establishments.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, the host and marketing head, known as Casey Wyatt Montero Miller in real life, narrated that he just went to the bar because he was hungry and wanted to dine.

“i was hungry, I went to eat at a place that seemed open,” he said. “Now i’m arrested. i really should’ve stayed home and watched Gilmore Girls.”

Montero then chided the Makati Police for arresting them for social distancing violations, yet their actions did not practice social distancing at all.

“this is absolutely ridiculous,” he said. “arrest us for not social distancing (we were actually practicing it) we were there for 5 minutes for dinner.”

“so take all of us from a wide open area, cram us into a police station, hot no AC, then cram us on to truck shoulder to shoulder. how is that responsible? the exact opposite of social distancing,” he added.

Montero, his wife, and 119 other individuals are now detained in the Makati City Police Headquarters and have undergone booking procedures.
