But ayon kay Kuya Kim, he likes calling those life-altering moments as “180-degrees turn.”

And then, I got well. Life from perfect turned 180 degrees. But that made me physically born again. I did not accept Christ yet as a Saviour.

“Pero sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘I’m going to be healthy. From this day onward, I’m going to be a marathoner.’ I became a triathlete.

“So, I became a renewed physical person. Jesus Christ was not my Lord yet, he’s just my best friend.”

“From perfect fitness, life turned a 180-degrees pause again. From Ironman to paralysis. And that made me spiritually born-again. I’ve realized that no power comes from me.

“I’m totally powerless and the motto of Ironman, which is ‘I Can’ does not apply. What really applies is ‘I Can’t. Only He Can.’

“That’s why I called you (Rica).”

Ayon pa rin kay Kuya Kim, “Because I want to know Jesus Christ. I’m ready to accept Him as Lord and Saviour and not just as best friend.

That was the time na magkakasama tayo sa morning show and that was the time na marami kang problema. But I saw the peace in you that was so enviable.”

Dagdag pa ni Kuya Kim: “And that was the time in my life that I was bothered. I was worried, I was distressed, and I want peace. I wanted the kind of peace that you had. And so that’s why I wanted to accept whatever you had and it so happened that what you had is Jesus Christ.”

“[Pag] 180 degrees naging kabaligtaran, naging totally different. I would say na 180 degrees dahil ang nangyari sa mundo, hindi bago sa akin ’to. It happened to me twice.

“And it so happened na nangyari sa mundo ito, nag-pause ang mundo, nag-180 degrees, sabay-sabay tayong lahat.

“Hindi mo akalain ang pandemic na ’to. A few months ago, we we’re planning for summer vacation, we we’re planning for Christmas vacation. I’m saving money because I wanted a new motorcycle bigla na lang boom, the world paused and turned 180 degrees.

“But I’m not surprised and it’s comforting because it happened to me twice and Christ was always there. And Christ was always there for me. And I know, God is in control and that is so comforting.

“I’m not in control but God is in control.”

“I went through a lot of things. Anxious about the pandemic...nang mawala ang franchise ng ABS-CBN.

“I lost my means to be able to assert myself to my family. I’m the provider. Kasi akala ko, talagang mawawala, e.

“And the kids are going through a lot of things also. And then of course, relationship with the wife, sabay-sabay lahat yan, e.  Talagang para kang bugbog-sarado.”

At dugtong niya, “But I am thankful that I am a Christian. As a Christian kasi, palaging may hope.”
