Former GMA-7 teen star Lexi Fernandez, the eldest daughter of character actress Maritoni Fernandez, is pursuing higher education in Australia.

Yesterday, February 16, Maritoni tearfully sent off her daughter Lexi at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The post came with a message of encouragement for her daughter.

"My eldest, my best friend, my forever date, my reason and the best of everything I am in a human being," Maritoni said on Instagram, “remember all that I have taught you.

"Soar high and never forget or doubt who you are in Jesus. You are a Kingdom Citizen and the daughter of the most high!

"I love you. Safe travels my heart. Next chapter."

Just last year, Lexi took home her degree in Bachelor Science in Child Development and Education from the University of Asia and the Pacific [UA&P]. And now, she has clearly chosen to pursue masteral studies over showbiz. Her departure yesterday would take her to the Land Down Under, the country of choice for her higher education.

Way to go, Lexi!
