Liza Soberano’s recent trip to America is not only to catch the famous music festival, Coachella or to have a short breather away from the limelight. Her main reason for going there actually is to get her injured finger fixed.
It’s the injury that caused her to withdraw from her career-defining project, Darna, which she announced April 4 this year.
And in order to finally get back on track, the actress explained—through a video that her manager Ogie Diaz uploaded on Facebook yesterday—that she needs to undergo her fourth index finger surgery after her doctors found out she had a bone infection there.
In the same video, Liza also revealed that she recently had an operation called internal fixation and that her doctor attached a stabilizer in her bone. She’s also currently taking antibiotic medications for her bone infection, a process that runs for about six more weeks.
Meanwhile, on Instagram, the Kapamilya artist didn’t forget to update her fans and followers about her condition and asked them to keep her in their prayers.
Her full IG caption read: “Hi everyone!!! I know I’ve been M.I.A these past few weeks and I’m sorry for not updating you guys sooner. My managers and I decided to take this time for me to recover fully.
“I came to LA almost 3 weeks ago thinking I would be here for only 2 weeks. I was supposed to have surgery to remove my plates but, it turns out that we were dealing with more than just protruding hardware.
“During surgery the doctor discovered that my bone wasn’t healed and that I also had a bone infection (no one is to blame for the infection it just happens sometimes). So now I’m taking anti-biotics through a picc line on my left arm. As soon as my infection is clear I will have my 2nd (and possibly 3rd) surgery. Thats pretty much it.
“I just want to thank my tita Joni, my managers and ABS-CBN for taking good care of me all throughout this process. Lizquens and Liza supporters thank you for all the get well soon messages. I love and miss all of you!! Please keep me in your prayers hehe.”
The 21-year-old star suffered from index bone fracture while taping for her drama-fantasy series Bagani in August 2018.
