Today, August 30, comedian-singer Marissa Sanchez inked her contract and made her return to Viva Entertainment, Inc.
In an exclusive interview with pikapika.ph, Marissa expressed her gratitude towards God and actress Patricia Javier who paved the way for her to have an opportunity to make a return with Viva.
“Siya ’yong nag-encourage sa akin na bumalik sa Viva,” Marissa began to narrate. “Long time ago, I worked here as a Viva recording artist. Tapos, noong matagal na, sabi ko ‘Ano kaya kung bumalik ako sa Viva?’ but [I thought] there was no chance na may mag-udyok sa akin. It was Patricia Javier.”
It was Javier who gave good word for Sanchez to Viva executives. When the actress-beauty queen was summoned for a meeting with them, she mentioned that Marissa was interested in returning to the multi-media giant.
“Marami kasing tinutulungan si Patricia,” Marissa said. “Charitable siya. Very helpful siya sa mga artists and I am one of those people that she wanted to be back again because she believes, maybe, in my body?”
Marissa then recalled a time when people just referred to her as “Si ano.” During this return to Viva, she vows that she will now be known by her name, not just by a question.
“At least makikilala na ako as Marissa Sanchez, hindi na ‘Si ano.’,” she said. “Kasi kilala ako, eh. Very popular ako, very sikat ako by the name of ‘Si ano’”
Sanchez cites acting as her first love, which was one of the reasons for her return. She cannot wait to do drama but says there is no trouble at all when she is chosen to do comedy once more.
“I just want to be back, in movies, teleserye, Viva programs. I come to look forward to working with Viva talaga, and in television kasi it’s a big mileage when you are in television.” Marissa concludes.
