Pinoy Big Brother alumna-turned-PBB host Melai Cantiveros took to social media to assure her fans and clarify that she was totally okay after she was allegedly pushed by a mother of an evictee.
The alleged pushing and display of rude behavior happened during the show's eviction night last Saturday, July 6 while Melai was interviewing Rowena Cariaga, mother of PBB housemate Dianna Mackey, who was evicted that night.
The evictee’s mom got a massive online lashing because of the incident.
But Melai defended Dianna’s mother on her Instagram account last Monday and her post contained screenshots of apology messages coming from Dianna’s mother clarifying it wasn’t her intention to hurt Melai in any way.
Melai’s post was captioned: “Maraming Salamat Sa lahat ng concern nyu sa akin at nakakatouch na mga mensahe. Pero ako na nagsasabi na di nmn ako nasaktan at naintindihan ko ang pinagdadaanan ng Mama ni Diana..”
The TV host-comedienne went on to explain that she understood the behavior of the PBB housemate’s mother because she’s also a mother herself, who would do anything for their children.
“kaya wag na kayu mabahala kasi kahit ako dn alam ko na di para sa akin ang emusyun ni Mami kundi sa Sitwasyun , at mix emotion na si Mami , natawa cya , nalungkot , nafrustrate , na normal na mararamdaman ng nanay pag hirapan o nasasaktan ang Anak kasi mga parehas nmn kming Momshie.”
Melai concluded: “at PS after ng interview nagHug pa kmi ni Mami kasi kinomfort ko cya na dtu talaga sa outside world ang totoong laban. wag na natin ijudge si Mami at magmahalan nlang tayu.”
Dianna, herself, was also apologetic on the comment section and thanked Melai for being understanding.
Melai’s PBB co-host Bianca Gonzales also exerted effort to defend the evictee’s mother.
Replying to an upset Netizen on Twitter, Bianca wrote:
“She was just being a mom. Mahirap talaga kasi syempre pa-Big Four na tapos dun pa na-evict.. iba iba din talaga tayo ng way ng pag-express ng disappointment o lungkot. Melai did so well.”
