Louise Delos Reyes admits for the first time that she's living in with her non-showbiz partner.

Actress Louise Delos Reyes bravely disclosed to the entertainment press that she and her businessman boyfriend Jino, have been living under the same roof for a year now.

The revelation happened at the press conference of her new film, My Bakit List, held earlier this afternoon at the Viva Office in Ortigas,  where Louise openly discussed the reasons behind her decision to do so.

“Open naman ako sa idea [ng live-in]...” Louise says. “Kasi naiwan na din ako doon sa choice na ’yon since wala na din akong magulang and mayroon na din family ’yong mga kapatid ko.

She adds, “Tsaka mas less gastos, n’ong nabubuhay ako mag-isa solo ko ’yong rent, ’yong grocery, pero ngayon may ka-share na ako. Win-win situation sa’min.”

When asked how long she’s been living with her partner, she answers: “Parang ngayon ko lang sinagot ng diretso yan…[magkasama na kami] for a year. Pero kasama namin bestfriend ko and ’yong isang friend namin.”

The 27-year-old artist says the live-in set up has given their relationship the advantage to know each other even more.

“Actually kaya siguro hindi kami nag-aaway kasi mas tantya na namin ’yong isa’t-isa. Parang alam ko siya pagkagising sa umaga, alam ko siya bago matulog, lahat ng problema niya naririnig ko tsaka alam ko kung saan siya nagpupunta.”

She also admits that she prefers their current set up because there is no room for pretentions. It also affords her the opportunity to witness upclose how her partner values housework.

“Walang pretentions kasi walang room for that. Okay sa akin ’yong ganung set up kasi ako wala naman akong tinatago and ’yong adjustment ko pagdating niya konti na lang. Kasi marunong siya magluto at maglinis.

Ako kasi mas technical ako sa bahay, more than dun sa character niya, mas technical ako sa bahay... na kung naglilinis ba siya, alam niya ba ’yong magsaing? Alam naman niya at nakakapagluto naman siya.”

When asked if she’s ready to accept and address possible bashing following her revelation, Louise, initially chiding says:

“Guys, it’s 2019, magtu-2020 na guys…”

Turning serious, she adds: “Ako, I came from a traditional family, siya din he came from a very traditional family...Actually, he’s living with me tapos after a few months tsaka lang namin sinabi kasi napapansin na siya na laging wala sa bahay.

“I think we have to prove to our families as well na we can. Kaya we’re working hard para hindi kami dumating sa point na we ask for money para sa rent to live. So parang dry run na din siya. ’Yon ’yong naging thinking namin.

“Sa mga basher, wala ako masabi kasi siguro nasa day and age na tayo na kahit ano’ng sabihin mo may masasabi at masasabi sila.”

Louise also revealed that this is her first time to experience this kind of set up in a romantic relationship, and that her mom, who just passed on, would’ve been uncomfortable with the idea.

“Actually hindi nila [parents] naabutan kasi my mom passed away six months ago. No’ng umpisa nagagalit ’yong mom ko by just the thought na may pumapasok sa bahay ko na lalaki. But then naisip niya na I have my own life, I’m working hard and alam niya na hindi ako ganun klaseng babae.”

Incidentally, Ivan Padilla and Prince Stefan join Louise in My Bakit List. Directed by Bona Fajardo, the hugot film is showing on December 11.
