Newly-engaged Lindsay Lohan is making a comeback via a holiday romcom movie slated for Christmas 2022

The 35-year old Mean Girls star finished shooting her first Christmas movie for Netflix that will be released in December 2022. Lindsay will star with Glee star Chord Overstreet on the said holiday movie.

After laying low for eight years, controversial Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan will be making a comeback this 2022.

The 35-year old Mean Girls star finished shooting her first Christmas movie for Netflix that will be released in December 2022. Lindsay will star with Glee star Chord Overstreet on the said holiday movie.

"She's back! Here is your first look at Lindsay Lohan in her upcoming holiday rom-com, co-starring Chord Overstreet. The film will debut on the streaming platform in 2022," Netflix tweeted back in November 2021.

In the said romantic-comedy, Lindsay plays a spoiled hotel heiress who had amnesia after a freak ski accident. Chord plays the lodge owner who found Lindsay and took her in his home until her memories comes back. But during the amnesia phase, Lindsay will eventually enjoy the ordinary blue-collar life.

The actress comments on Entertainment Tonight: "I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I'm doing something soon in this new year. And, you know, just taking back the life I've worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys."

Lindsay Lohan began her career as a three-year old child model under the management of Fords Models in 1989. She modeled for Calvin Klein Kids and Abercrombie, and appeared in over 60 television commercials. Her most famous TVC was the one with Bill Cosby for Jell-O. At age 10, Lohan played Ali Fowler in the television soap opera, Another World.

But her breakout role came in 1998 in Disney's remake of the 1961 family comedy, The Parent Trap, where Lindsay plays twins who tries to bring her parents back together. The film earned $92 million worldwide, and Lohan received unanimous acclaim for her debut performance.

She then did one movie after another such as Life-Size, Get A Clue, and the remake of the 1976 comedy, Freaky Friday, where Lohan won a Breakthrough Performance at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards and, as of 2015. The film earned $160 million worldwide.

The years 2004 and 2005 marked Lohan's year as a box-office superstar with the films Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls, and Herbie Fully Loaded. 

In the years that followed, coupled with her trouble with the law because of drug and alcohol abuse, Lohan loss her box-office magic with the films Just My Luck, Georgia Rule, A Prairie Home Companion, Chapter 27, and Bobby. She soon settled to do films for independent film productions such as I Know Who Killed Me, Machete, and her last acting vehicle, The Canyon.

Before making her film comeback, Lindsay tried her luck doing a reality show called Linday Lohan's Beach Club in January 2019. 

The series follows Lohan as she expands her business empire and manages her beach club in Mykonos, Greece, with partner, Panos Spentzos, and focuses on the lives of the staff at the club, who were flown from America for a summer and work to remain ambassadors for the Lohan brand. In June 2019, it was reported that the show would not be returning for a second season. 

Upon announcing her comeback, Lindsay also shared that got engaged last November 29 to Bader Shammas, an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse in Dubai, where Lindsay lived for seven years. They have been dating for two years before they got engaged.

Liindsay, wearing her engagement ring, captioned on Instagram: "My love. My life. My family. My future."

This is Lohan's second engagement. She was first engaged in 2016 to London-based Russian millionaire Egor Tarabasov, but the engagement was called off in 2017.

Last New Year's Eve, Lindsay posted photos commemorating special moments of 2021 on Instagram. The collage of photos featured her family members plus her fiancé Bader Shammas.

She captioned: "Happy New Year!! May your new year be blessed with peace, love, happiness and good health! Sending lots of love and prayers of joy to everyone! #nye2021."
