Hit pop band Cup Of Joe is dropping their brand-new single titled “Misteryoso” today, May 17, 2024.
The new song finds the band—lead singers Raphael Ridao and Gian Bernardino, guitarists CJ Fernandez and Gab Fernandez, keyboardist Xen Gareza and Bassist Raphael Severino—checking on all the right boxes that include catchy melodies, relatable themes, and the clean and clear sonic arrangements.
For his part, record producer Shadiel Chan would know if Cup Of Joe has a great sounding song in their hands. After all, Shadiel knows his stuff too, having worked with Dilaw, Sunkissed Lola, and Arthur Miguel to name a few.
“'Misteryoso' was made with the intention of fusing classic OPM with modern pop,” said Chan. "We also added ear tickling elements in unexpected parts of the song mixed with a fairytale-like atmosphere.”
“Misteryoso” comes after a handful of Cup Of Joe hit singles that include “Estranghero,” “Patutunguhan,” “Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko” and their most recent, “Tingin” their duet with Janine (of “Hulaan” fame).
Asked what makes Cup Of Joe one of the best out there today, Shadiel said: “What makes COJ remarkable as a band is the way they write songs and melodies that capture the taste of both the Filipino and international audiences.”
Songwriting mixed with visuals is also a key component added the producer. “Cup of Joe unique quality is how they are able to fuse the band sound that Filipinos love with a bit of P-pop visuals. In our current music scene, they are like the melting pot of the different favorite flavors of Filipino music.”
These things coupled with “the energy the boys radiate” during live performances, “give a whole different life to their songs.”
Released by Viva Records, “Misteryoso” will be available on all streaming platforms starting today, Friday, May 17.
