You may remember him as Tatay Tomas in the original TV run of Gulong ng Palad, the hit soap opera that dominated the small screen from 1977 to 1985.
But there is more to Augusto Victa than the fatherly roles he played on TV.
The TV veteran, who passed away last Monday, was also a radio drama actor who was given the title of "The Greatest Radio Drama Actor of All Time" by radio station DZRH for their 70th anniversary in 2009.
Augusto, also known as Ogot, was also an accomplished actor who appeared in films such as Missing in Action (1984), Isang Bala Ka Lang, Part II (1993), Eskapo (1995) and Heatseeker (1995); in the 80s soaps Annaliza and Heredero; and the 1999 teleserye Saan Ka Man Naroroon starring Claudine Barretto in the lead role.
A memorial service for the late actor will be held this Sunday at Loyola Memorial Chapels in Sucat, Parañaque.
According to his son Val, all are welcome to say their final respects to the veteran radio and TV star.
"His family welcomes all who wish to attend and bid "The Philippines' Greatest Radio Drama Actor of All Time" Farewell.
"Further, His family wishes to announce that the chapel will be open to loved ones and visitors as early as 1pm," Val announced on his Facebook account.
Rest in peace, Mr. Victa.
