Actor and Ormoc City mayor Richard Gomez (aka Goma) unveiled his newest collection of paintings yesterday, September 23, in an exhibition at the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo City.
The exhibition, entitled When Evening Comes, marks Goma’s second art show. His first exhibit, also held at the Pinto Art Museum, was held in December 2017.
According to the exhibit’s wall text, posted on Instagram by the @teamrgg Instagram account, the new collection draws inspiration from the Ormoc night sky and the seas of Siargao.
“Richard Gomez has set his eyes on the night sky as the subject matter of his abstraction… Gomez, in this collection of startling works, provides us the nocturnes and the watery rhythms of pigment that directly converse with our feeling and imagination.”
Richard, his wife Lucy, and their daughter Juliana were present at the opening of the exhibit yesterday. Also in attendance were Richard’s art contemporaries and close friends.
