Rocco Nacino wowed his followers on Instagram earlier today by uploading multiple photos and a video of him which were all taken during his two-day military training with AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) in Nueva Ecija.
He underwent such grueling physical training in preparation for Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean drama series Descendants of the Sun, where he will portray the character of Sergeant Major Seo Dae Young or Wolf, originally played by Korean actor Jin Goo.
Wolf is the best friend of the lead character “Big Boss” or Captain Yoo Si-Jin, originally played by Song Joong-ki and which will be played locally by Dingdong Dantes.
In his posts, several stars were spotted training with him as well including Dingdong himself and co-actors Paul Salas, Prince Clemente, Lucho Ayala, and Jon Lucas.
It was evident that these actors, who will complete the Korean drama’s famous team Alpha, had it rough in their required military preparation. Rocco himself said that “it’s no joke.”
He posted a series of photos via Instagram carrying a huge log along with real soldiers.
The photos were captioned: “Young blood Andronikus 👊🏽Log carry for 5km is no joke. Test of strength, coordination, footwork, and teamwork for this simple exercise. #DescendantsOfTheSunPH.”
In a separate post, he uploaded a video of them struggling to do military’s “tusok ulo,” where they need to balance themselves with their heads on the ground.
There, he wrote, “Tusok ulo, Buhatin ang mundo!” Creating our Alpha Team thru the Special Forces training at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija. #DescendantsOfTheSunPH.”
Fans are rooting for this highly-anticipated adaptation to give justice to the said worldwide K-Drama phenomenon.
Although there’s no official announcement yet about who will portray the female lead, seeing these photos and videos already prove to us that this remake is something to watch out for. The airing date has yet to be announced.
