The Revilla family, led by Senator Bong Revilla, asked friends and supporters for prayers after his father, former senator and actor Ramon Revilla Sr., was brought to the hospital due to breathing problems, yesterday, May 31.
In his Facebook post last night, the actor-senator shared a short statement saying they were in the process of rushing the Revilla patriarch to the hospital.
"My Daddy is on the way to the hospital right now, asking for your prayers," the actor-senator said last Sunday.
Few hours later, the senator shared a longer post, updating the public of his father's condition.
"At around 6 PM tonight (31 May 2020), I rushed my father to the hospital," the senator wrote on his second Facebook post. "He was hard of breathing and was somewhat unresponsive. From St. Dominic Medical Center where he was given first aid and emergency medical services, he was transferred to St. Luke’s medical center, Global City.
"He is now undergoing treatment. Kasalukuyan po siyang nakakabit sa ventilator, but thank God, he is now conscious and responsive."
He continued: "Patuloy po kaming humihiling ng inyong panalangin para muli niyang malampasan itong kanyang karamdaman."
Bong Revilla's eldest son, Bryan, for his part, also shared his mini tribute for his Lolo Ramon Revilla on Instagram.
"Panginoon at pamilya ang ating tunay na agimat," Bryan wrote on his IG post that came with a photo of them together and a collage of his lolo’s vintage movie posters. “I've always knew that my grandfather has them both...”
Bryan also cheered his lolo on. “Laban ka lang daddy! We are all praying for you, we love you."
Today, June 1, Senator Bong thanked those who expressed concern and offered prayers for his father who served in the senate from 1992 to 2004.
"Thank you for your continuous prayers," the action star-politician said. "Daddy is still in critical condition and will be under strict observation for the next 48 hours. Hiling po namin ang inyong patuloy na panalangin para kay Daddy at sa aming pamilya."
