Bagama’t nabigong manalo sa pagka-bise presidente nitong nagdaang eleksyon, nanatiling positibo ang pananaw si Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Iyan ay kung pagbabasehan ang Facebook post n’ya kahapon, May 26, kung saan binati n’ya sina President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. (BBM) at Vice President-elect Sara Duterte.

“God bless our President and Vice President! God bless the Philippines,” panimulang pagbati ng kasalukuyang senate president sa kanyang FB post.

Kalakip nito ang ilang screenshot photos mula sa naging joint session ng Senate and House of the Representatives nitong May 25 kung saan pormal na iprinoklamana bilang duly elected president and vice president sina BBM at Sara.

Magkasama sina Senator Tito at House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco sa nagtaas ng mga kamay ng nakatunggali n’ya sa vice presidential race na si Sara Duterte, at sa nanalo sa pagka-presidente na si BBM.

Ayon sa senador, nagpapaka-positibo umano s’ya sa kabila ng kanyang pagkatalo dahil karangalan daw para sa kanya ang maging isport at isang mabuting tao. 

“I choose kindness over bitterness, hope over regret and a positive attitude over despair,” the actor-turned politician said. 

“Masarap mabuhay ng walang masamang tinapay sa kapwa. Isang karangalan ang maging mabuting tao matalo ka man o manalo,” dagdag pa n’ya.

Matatandaan na isang araw matapos ang eleksyon, May 10, ay kaagad na tinanggap n’ya ang resulta nito kahit hindi pa tapos ang bilangan ng boto.

“The people have made their choice. I accept the will of the People,” saad n’ya sa FB post n’ya noong araw na ’yon.

Nailahad naman daw nila ang kanilang plataporma pero sadyang iba daw ang pulso ng mga botante. 

“We presented an alternative for a better system in governance and politics but the electorate had their minds conditioned elsewhere. Our word of honor and loyalty are of far greater importance than an election win,” aniya.

Masaya daw s’ya na hindi sila umatras sa laban ng ka-tandem n’yang si Senator Ping Lacson dahil kahit natalo ay hindi umano nabahiran ang kanilang dangal. 

“I am glad that I did not yield to any political pressure to change my principles and kept my integrity intact till the end,” lahad pa n’ya. 

“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng naniwala at sumuporta hanggang sa huli. God bless mga Dabarkads!” pagtatapos ng senador.
