Excitement rushes through the veins of actor Carlo Aquino, who is holding his first major solo concert at the Music Museum on August 31. In a press conference for the event held last July 30 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City, Carlo expressed his gratitude towards events company Hills & Dreams for making it all possible.
“[I am] thankful kasi Hills & Dreams, ginawa nila itong totoo,” he said. “Kasi dati, napag-uusapan lang tas ngayon mangyayari na talaga. Sobrang excited ako. Kung kakayanin ng oras, may gagawin ako na ’di ginawa noong concert namin ni Mat [Guidicelli].”
Indeed, Carlo will display his total performance level at this concert. He cannot help grinning after telling some of his plans to do in the event, that of playing the guitar and, for the first time, do a dance number.
“Meron kaming 5 to 6 days of rehearsal ’cause I’m planning to dance, which is a first for me,” he said in the concert’s press release.
He, then, described how this concert will showcase his journey on how he began his passion for music, which all started because of his father’s influence.
“Tatay ko ’yong talagang mahilig sa musika tsaka kumakanta rin,” he described. “So, baka may kakantahin din akong old songs tapos mga nagawa kong kanta dati. [...] Mga covers din, kong ano ’yong mga nakalakihan kong mga music.”
Now that he is pursuing his love for music, Carlo reminds his supporters, through the concert’s title, to always seize the moment and chase their dreams, no matter how big or small that may be. He hopes to be an inspiration to them now that he is doing what he really loves to do.
“’Yun naman ang pinaka-importante talaga eh, mag-enjoy ’yung mga manonood at mag-enjoy ako as a performer, kasi hindi ko na nga alam kung ito na ba ang first and last ko,” he said.
Liwanag In Concert is under the direction of Frank Lloyd Mamaril and the musical direction of Louie Ocampo. This event, produced by Hills & Dreams, takes place at the Music Museum on August 31.
