If you love styling and fashion, then you were probably glued to your phone last Saturday just trying to keep up with all the looks from the first-ever ABS-CBN Ball. Formerly known as the Star Magic Ball, the event saw hundreds of Kapamilya stars strutting down the red carpet in their best dresses and suits. While fashion took center stage that night, we couldn’t help but also notice that quite a few ladies were sporting bangs—a bold hairstyle choice for the red carpet! See how they pulled off this high-maintenance hairdo below:
Jodi Sta. Maria
Jodi Sta. Maria chose the ABS-CBN Ball as the place to debut her new hairstyle: a two-tone long bob with a full fringe executed by Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell and styled by Jay Wee.
Liza Soberano
It’s all about volume for Liza Soberano, whose voluminous ‘do was created by hairstylist Raymond Santiago. The see-through bangs frame Liza’s face without covering too much of her expressive eyes.
Yassi Pressman
A vision in red, Yassi Pressman opted for choppy bangs that say “daring” without being too much. Hairstylist Gerald Magtibay kept this laidback vibe by keeping the actress’s hair down and giving her loose curls.
Julia Barretto
Julia’s dress may have been divisive, but her hairstyle is the epitome of classic chic. Here, the fringe is the highlight of look as most of the hair is pulled back and kept in a neat bun. This is the work of hairstylist RJ dela Cruz.
Maxine Medina
Team Albert Kurniawan gave Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina gentle curls and a full, choppy bob that highlighted her cheekbones.
Arci Muñoz
She’s sported this hairstyle for a while now, but Arci Muñoz still wowed with her bright pink color and loosely-curled bangs by Jocelyn So. Seeing it against an all-black gown must have done the trick.
Patty Mendoza
Blunt bangs don’t have to be boring, as demonstrated here by Patty Mendoza. Her full fringe was given a part by hairstylist Mycke Arcano, making it look fresher and lighter for the red carpet.
