Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III and his wife Lynn celebrated the what would-have-been 38th birthday of their late son, Teejay, yesterday, October 22.
Since their first born’s passing last year, Tirso and Lynn made it their habit to post anything about Teejay on a daily basis. And all their posts always end with these sweet words: “I love you son, we miss you so much.”
Teejay, after months of battling with lymphatic cancer, passed on at the age of 37 on November 21, 2018 and next month would be his first death anniversary.
This year, for his birthday, his mom and dad made the sweetest gesture ever.
Lynn uploaded beautiful throwback photos of Teejay’s first-ever birthday via Instagram earlier today.
Her full caption read: “I am sharing photos of TJ’s 1st Birthday Party year 1982. We are the proud parents of this handsome baby boy that looked like an angel.
“Teej I am missing you so much especially yesterday that you could’ve turned 38. Last year, though you were already confined but I saw the happiness in your face when your officemates, your siblings Bodie & Djanin & friends came to surprise you.
“You even laughed when I was singing & got of tune while playing the guitar. I was just so happy to see you laughing that we ended up both laughing hard because of my sintunado voice.
“Miss our bonding moments Teej! Enjoy your party there in the Heavenly City where you don’t count your age anymore for you have an everlasting life.
“Thank you for there is hope in Jesus if we put Him in our hearts and accept Him as our Lord and Savior! Love you so much my dearest son! John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.’ #thankyouLord #thankyouJesus #tjcruz #teejaycruz

Tirso, for his part, shared a glimpse of the party they hosted for his late son yesterday. And to make up with Teejay’s absence, he made sure to literally have him around by creating a standee of him wearing his volleyball attire—as Teejay was an avid volleyball player—with a huge smile on his face.
Tirso said on his IG post: “GODly heavenly morning TJ! Again I found myself crying this morning as we remember your birthday. Happy happy birthday in heaven my dear son. You should have been 38 today.”
He added, “But then again, I believe in heaven, you celebrate birthdays but you never age. See the standee in the picture? It’s standing right outside the door of your room. Just like before when you would leave the house to go and play volleyball. Love you so much my boy. Missing you so TJ! #nevertobeforgotten💓 10/22/19.”
Happiest 38th birthday in heaven, Teejay!
