Tony Labrusca, aminadong humbling experience ang kinasangkutan niyang immigration incident early this year.

“I learned a lot of about humanity from that experience. I learned about humility...it was siguro, I don’t know, it sounds cliché, that experience was something that’s part of my journey, my learning process as a human being.”—Tony on the airport incident.

“I learned a lot of about humanity from that experience. I learned about humility...it was siguro, I don’t know, it sounds cliché, that experience was something that’s part of my journey, my learning process as a human being.”—Tony on the airport incident.

All’s well na sa ngayon ang lahat pertaining to that issue.

In fact, trailer palang nito ay naka-5M views na on the day it was uploaded on social media.

At sa Sino Ang Maysala?, which ended early August, napatunayan niyang he’s capable of doing other roles.

At madadagdagan pa ang milestone niya this year dahil his next project, which will be under Viva Films, will be handled by acclaimed director Joel Lamangan na first time niyang makaka-trabaho. In fact, first time din niyang makaka-trabaho ang mga co-stars niyang sina Lovi Poe at Marco Gumabao at nakakadagdag daw ito ng excitement sa kanya.

Nang maka-usap ng pikapika.ph si Tony after ng story conference ng pelikula—which is tentatively titled In Between Goodbyes, sa opisina ng Viva Films last week—isa sa unang tinanong namin ay kung paano niya hina-handle ang success...kung paano niya naiiwasang lumaki ang ulo lalo pa’t ang bilis nga ng pag-angat ng career niya kumpara sa ibang ka-edad niya (he’s only 24).

“Hindi naman,” bungad niya.I think I take pride in the fact that I’m not a very showbiz person...I don’t like to live a showbiz life, you know? I mean, this is coming from me, I wanna say na it never got to my head...I mean, baka sabihin ng mga manonood nito na I’m lying...I don’t think so...

“I mean, I was very humbled at the beginning of this year...All you have to do is Google my name,” natatawa pero tila nahihiyang pag-banggit ni Tony indirectly sa airport incident.

Ayon kay Tony, that whole incident taught him enough lessons in character building.

“I guess so...” tila pag-sang-ayon niya. “From the start of my career, lagi kong sinasabi na kung para sa’yo, para sa’yo...there’s not a single force on earth that will not be able to take that away from you...there’s nothing that anybody can do, you know? Kung para sa’yo, para sa’yo talaga yan...all I did was just stay in my lane. You know what I mean? That’s all I can do, stay in the path that I had and do my job, do what was given for me, do my best with it.”

Ipinagpapasalamat lang din ni Tony na that airport incident did not define his whole being.

I’m very grateful for that...I mean, life happens...it’s life, you learn...Well, I learned a lot of about humanity from that experience. I learned about humility...it was siguro, I don’t know, it sounds cliché, that experience was something that’s part of my journey, my learning process as a human being.”
