As first reported by the daily tabloid Abante yesterday, October 22, businessman Ramon Ang reacted to the circulating issue that he has a relationship with actress Julia Barretto.
Ang, 65, said he does not even know the 22-year-old Kapamilya star and at such a young age, he said that Julia can be his own grandchild.
“Never ko pa po nakilala si Julia Barreto,” the President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation told Abante. “Nakita niyo naman po ang edad niya, parang apo ko na. Kaya ito pong mga istorya na ito ay malicious.”
Ang then presses that people should not focus on issues like that because it does not help the progress of the Philippines.
“Huwag na po natin pagbigyan ng pansin, at mas marami pa po tayong kailangan gawin para mapabuti ang bansa natin.” he said.
However, the business tycoon said it is not impossible that his own grandchildren could be friends with Julia someday.
“Siguro, paglaki pa ng kaunti ng mga sarili kong apo, puwede silang maging magkakaibigan,” he said.
Ang is the eight richest Filipino in the Philippines according to Forbes, standing at a net worth of $2.8 billion.
The rumor about Ang’s alleged relationship with Julia became the topic of some tabloids today following the latter’s mother’s exclusive interview with Karen Davila last night for TV Patrol, where Marjorie Barretto, rectified—among others—the floating accusations that she’s peddling her daughters to rich businessmen.
“My children are not for sale,” Marjorie told Davila. “I don’t even have very much wealthy friends to sell my children to. My children work very, very hard. My youngest daughter is a good student in college in Ateneo. Matitino po ang mga anak ko."
