First time na nagkasama sa isang project sina Diego Loyzaga and Christian Bables pero mabilis daw silang naging magka-vibes.
Ito ang ikinuwento ni Diego sa exclusive virtual interview sa kanya ng pikapika.ph kamakailan. Kinumusta kasi namin ang naging working relationship n’ya with Christian sa upcoming LGBT-themed comedy movie na Bekis On The Run.
“I knew of him,” panimula ni Diego about Christina na sa set na niya nakilala. “Never pa kaming nagsama sa isang project [before] pero I definitely knew of him. Alam ko na isa s’yang mahusay na aktor.”
And dahil nga Christian’s reputation precedes him, kaya isa ’yon sa naka-excite kay Diego to work alongside him.
“I said, ‘If Christian is my brother isang project, plus point din ’to sa ’kin because I want to see how he acts and how he is on set, his professionalism, lahat.”
Napuri din n’ya ang award-winning co-star sa pagiging supportive nito sa kanilang cast members ke ka-eksena man nito o hindi.
“S’ya ’yong tipo ng artista na kahit wala s’yang shot, wala s’yang on-cam, nagsu-support s’ya,” lahad pa ni Diego. “He gives his all para ikaw meron [maibigay sa eksena]. I did the same for him.
“And pag off cam, he’s still the same—chatty, mabait kausap…marami kang napag-usapan with him. Alam kong hindi plastik o ‘trabaho lang.’”
Hindi daw kasi ito gaya ng ibang artista na hindi pala-imik. Buhay daw ang energy nila sa set sa pagiging makuwento nito sa kanila.
“Some artist aren’t like that, e. They’re introvert, they don’t talk so much. I’m not saying that they’re plastic but hindi lang nila trip magsalita masyado,” paliwanag pa ng Viva hunk.
“E, si Christian hindi. Trip n’ya [magsalita]. We talked about stuff and it was all fun. It was very pleasant ’yong pagsama ng buong cast, kaming lahat.”
At that helped a lot in their rapport daw as brothers on-cam.
Nakilala si Christian sa mahusay n’yang pagganap sa mga gay roles sa iba’t ibang pelikula gaya ng Die Beautiful (2016) kung saan nanalo s’ya ng Best Supporting Actor Award sa Metro Manila Film Festival at Gawad Urian.
Kaya naman natanong namin si Diego kung game din ba s’ya na gumanap sa mga gay roles—not necessarily the genre that Christian plays—in the future at kung hihingi ba siya ng tips kay Christian kung sakali.
“Siguro one day kapag dumating ’yong araw na I have to prove myself as an actor with a very nice script and reason kung bakit ganu’n ’yong character ko, I wouldn’t mind.
“But if hindi naman s’ya kailangan, hindi muna,” pagtatapos ni Diego.
Aside from Christian, kasama rin ni Diego sina Kylie Verzosa and Sean de Guzman sa Bekis On The Run na idinirek ni Direk Joel Lamangan at mapapanood simula September 17 sa Vivamax.
