But when Viva Films made the comedy movie Smith & Wesson in 1988—bilang parody ng sikat noon na Miami Vice at Bloodsport ni Jean-Claude Van Damme, sina Vic at Joey lang ang nag-bida (although may special participation pa rin si Tito. Along with brother Val Sotto).
Smith & Wesson, taken after the sikat na manufacturer ng mga American firearms, is about two detectives—sina Jessie Smith and James Wesson—na pambato ng famed Mayumi Vice Squad ni Major Mayumi (Panchito Alba). Kakalabanin ng dynamic duo ang notorious drug syndicate ni Tio Pablo (Paquito Diaz) na gagamitin later on ang kanilang mga sweethearts—Beverly Vergel and Angela Luz—para i-pain sa kanila.
Yup, introducing sa pelikulang ito si Angela Luz at mukang dito na-in love sa kanya si Bossing Vic noon. Years later, they a daughter named Paulina, who is now Mrs. Jed Llanes.
Lumutang din ang natural comic timing dito ng yumaong si Rene Requiestas kaya nga the following year, sidekick na siya lagi ni Joey de Leon at nabigyan na rin ng mga solo starrers.
Nakaka-aliw i-throwback watch ang pelikula dahil para mong pinanonood na nagko-komedi tandem sina Keempee de Leon at Mayor Vico Sotto.
Tadtad din ng magagaling na support ang movie na ito ni Direk Tony Y. Reyes. And they come in the likes of Jaime Fabregas, Mon Alvir, Vangie Labalan, Esther Chavez, Spanky Rigor, Minnie Aguilar, Bomber Moran, at Tsing Tong Tsai.
