In life, few things inspire wonder as much as the natural phenomenon that is the aurora borealis (also known as the northern lights). The natural lightshow is so breathtaking that countless tourists take a trip to places like Alaska, Norway, and Iceland just to catch a glimpse of its beauty. This also means that it’s the inspiration for many shows and films—including Through Night and Day, the upcoming movie starring Alessandra de Rossi and Paolo Contis as a newly-engaged couple. The unlikely loveteam flew to Iceland recently to shoot scenes for their film, which will open in theaters this November 14. Check out some of Alessandra’s photos here!
The actress, whose recent works include the surprise hit Kita Kita, decided to wait for sunrise during her first day in the arctic country.
Alessandra took a photo of the cosy and charming houses outside her window.
In the film, Alessandra plays Jen, a woman who goes on a trip to Iceland with her fiancé Ben (played by Paolo Contis).

Colorful homes line this street, which boasts a view of the sea and the mountains.
Iceland is known for several beautiful falls, one of which Alessandra snapped for her Instagram account.
Best known for its stunning landscapes and scenery, Iceland is a dream destination for nature lovers and adventurers.
Sick of posing by artsy walls? Why not do it by a rock formation?
Alessandra couldn’t pass up the chance to take a photo of Kerid, a deep blue volcanic crater lake in South Iceland. The crater features in Through Night and Day as one of the places Ben and Jen visit on their trip.
